Plunge Column in Bored Piles

Project Description
Sydney Metro Station at Barangaroo is one of the latest landmark infrastructure projects being built in NSW. Bachy Soletanche Australia has installed over 260 Bored Piles and nine Plunge Columns as part of temporary works during the construction period. The purpose of these plunge columns at Sydney Metro Station is to use vertical structural elements as temporary works to support the roof structure and the access road during construction.

Bachy Soletanche Australia (BSA) has experience in providing piles with high accuracy, and this was pivotal to the client when performing works with this new type of bored pile technique. With superior equipment and highly skilled staff, BSA installed the columns in a shorter time than proposed whilst maintaining all quality standards, with full client’s satisfaction. Forward planning and selection of materials, plant and gear made this achievement possible, even during congested and difficult site conditions.
