Project Description
The $130 million upgrade, which is being delivered as part of WestConnex, includes widening and extending the eastbound on-ramp and westbound off-ramp between King Georges Road and the M5 East, increasing ramp lengths by 180 metres in order to ease one of Sydney’s most congested interchanges.
Solutions

AFS Bachy Soletanche used specialist drilling tools and adjusted the Soilmec rigs in order to be able to use them to drill the higher strength rock. Detailed planning and sequencing by the site team was required due to the limited access provided on site and several mobilisations around live traffic and a dense residential area. The piling team worked carefully and diligently adjacent to neighbouring properties, often operating within 3 meters of the boundaries.
