Roads and Maritime Services has appointed the Downer Seymour Whyte Joint Venture (DSWJV) to deliver the $450 million Berry to Bomaderry Princes Highway upgrade.

DSWJV has subsequently awarded the piling contract to Bachy Soletanche Australia, with piling work to be carried out through to 2020.

The upgrade will provide approximately 10.5 kilometres of four lane divided highway between Mullers Lane, Berry and Cambewarra Road and Bomaderry. Once the highway upgrade is complete, traffic efficiency and road safety will improve on the Princes Highway with four lanes of divided highway between Waterfall and Jervis Bay Road, Falls Creek.

DSWJV will undertake major civil and roadworks including underpasses, overpass bridges, u-turn facilities, intersections and interchanges. As part of the construction Bachy Soletanche Australia will complete more than 250 bored piles for the new bridges on the project.

Business Development and Engineering Manager for Bachy Soletanche Australia Richard Smith said the company was delighted to be part of the project.

“This project includes eleven bridges and overpasses for which we will be undertaking the piling.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to be involved in this state-significant infrastructure.”
